About Fresh Start
Fresh Start incorporates the most current guidelines for tobacco cessation support into three instructor-led group support sessions. The class follows the American Cancer Society program for tobacco cessation. The evidence-based approach is geared to help participants increase their motivation to quit, learn effective approaches for quitting and guide them in making a successful quit attempt. The components of Fresh Start include motivational intervention activities, practical counseling/problem solving skills and social support. The sessions address a variety of reasons why people smoke, and give participants the tools they need to overcome obstacles and quit forever.
